Visit to Model Park - Luddenham

A group of members recently visited The Model Park with lots to see, from steam driven trains and stationary engines, to the high speed tether cars. A run speed of 255 km/h was witnessed and sometimes they can get to higher speeds on a circular track.

Control line aircraft were flying lots of different manoeuvres (the operators must have quick reflexes), radio control aircraft and a glider also a helicopter doing all sorts of flight patterns, the skills of the operators are amazing. Also radio controlled off road 4 wheel drive cars with stacks a plenty. There was even a RC sailing yacht and a slot car track; we all remember those.

A picnic lunch was also enjoyed during our time there.

After they finished with all the toys, the members adjourned to the Kemps Creek Bowling Club for a coffee and a chat. They chatted so long they ended up having dinner at the club.

All in all it was nice weather and a great day out.

Max Munro VK2FMRM - Silent Key

It is with sadness, the Fisher's Ghost Amateur Radio Club must advise of the passing of their friend and fellow club member Max Munro VK2FMRM, on Thursday morning 12th May, aged 83 years, following a long battle with ill health.

Max obtained his amateur radio licence in May 2009. He joined the club at the same time and was also a member of the WIA. He was almost always heard on the club's weekly net when his health allowed and was known by all as a true gentleman. In his earlier years, Max was an aircraft pilot and flew out of Cootamundra and Temora doing crop dusting.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday 18th May, 10:30am at St. John's Church, Campbelltown.

Max is survived by his 2 daughters and 3 sons.

Valè Max Munro VK2FMRM.
